Damage reported following Thursday night storms in Blount, Etowah counties

BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — People in Blount and Etowah County continued to clean up Friday from storms Thursday night. The storms came through between 9 p.m. and 10 pm.

In Blount County,  the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) tells WIAT 42 that several homes had roof damage in the Oneonta area, particularly around K Avenue, Lincoln Avenue and Valley Road.The EMA assisted some owners with tarps for homes that had roof damage. No one was displaced.

However, there were numerous trees and power lines down, and a couple of homes still do not have power.

In Etowah County it was more of the same. Trees and power lines came down, with some home damage. No one was displaced. Most of the damage was cleared up during the day Friday.
