Alabama judge arrested in Atlanta on Battery charges

Judge Mark Fuller (Fulton County Jail)

ATLANTA, Ga. (WIAT)–  The federal judge who presided over the trial, and sentencing, of former Alabama governor Don Siegelman is in trouble with the law tonight.

U.S. District Court Judge Mark Fuller was charged with Battery after a Saturday night incident at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Atlanta. According to Atlanta Police, officers arrived at the hotel at 10:47 p.m. and spoke to his wife, who stated that she was assaulted by Fuller.  Officers noticed injuries to her, but she refused transport to the hospital after being treated at the scene.

Fuller, 55, is in the Fulton County Jail without bond.

He was nominated to the bench in 2002 by President George W. Bush, and is a judge in the Middle District of Alabama, based in Montgomery.
