BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Could your anti-bacterial soaps do more harm than good?
One group of researchers thinks so, especially when it comes to pregnant women.
They found all of the women and half of the babies in their study had two compounds, commonly found in anti-bacterial soaps, in their systems. These compounds have been known to cause developmental problems in animals.
Experts say anti-bacterial soap isn’t necessary.
Regular soap and water work just as well.
