NewLink Genetics continues work on Ebola vaccine

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — As the Ebola crisis continues to ravage West Africa, one US company is working to make its experimental vaccine available to humans.

NewLink Genetics in Iowa has signed a one million dollar contract with the US Department of Defense to bring the already manufactured Ebola vaccine closer to human trials.

This experimental drug has proven to be 100% effective in animals

The first human clinical studies for NewLink’s Ebola vaccine could be begin next year.
