TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says a helicopter with two people aboard crashed Tuesday morning in Tuscaloosa County in the Blue Creek public use area.
The conditions of the two people were not immediately known. FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the McDonnell Douglas 369E helicopter crashed approximately 20 miles northeast of Tuscaloosa at 10:15 a.m.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
A spokesperson for Alabama Power tells WIAT 42 one Alabama Power was aboard the helicopter at the time of the crash. The two people on the helicopter were out scouting a transmission line.
