GREENSBORO, Ala. (WIAT)— A 7-year-old boy was killed after being caught in crossfire during a shootout Saturday evening.
Hale County District Attorney Michael Jackson tells WIAT 42 News the death occurred after two men got into an argument over a woman, and began shooting at one another. The fight occurred at a mutual friend’s home, next to Greensboro High School. The child, identified as DeCorrin Johnson, died while being transported by helicopter to a hospital in Birmingham.
JaPaul Williams and Lavares Jackson are in the Hale County Jail without bond on Capital Murder and attempted Murder charges.
The case has been handed over to the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.
