UNA investigating death threat

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Officials with the University of North Alabama Police Department are investigating a threat written on the wall of a bathroom on campus. Police were alerted the threat found in the men’s bathroom in Collier Library Friday afternoon.

According to police, the threat was not directed to anyone specifically, but it did state that four people would die on October 9, 2014.

UNA Police Chief Robert Pastula sent out an email alerting the campus about the threat and possibility of danger. Pastula said he is staffing each shift with additional personnel immediately. Extra safety precautions are also being taken around residence halls and campus apartments.

UNA police are asking anyone with information or anybody who sees anything out of the ordinary to contact the University Police Department at 256-765-4359.
