Man killed in early morning hit-and-run in Tuscaloosa County

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – A Northport man was killed early Thursday morning as he walked alongside Interstate 59 southbound, according to Alabama Department of Public Safety Sgt. Steve Jarrett.

Kenneth Dewayne Blanchard, 35, was killed as he walked along the interstate near mile markers 62 and 63. Jarrett says Blanchard was seeking assistance with a flat tire.

As he was walking on the side of the road, a vehicle struck Blanchard and left the scene.
