TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – WIAT 42 News was given a sneak peek at Tuscaloosa’s new $3 million sporting facility. The Tuscaloosa Tennis Center is on track to open in February.
The Park and Recreation Authority hosted a reception at Jaycee Park in Alberta Monday.
Tennis enthusiasts got a look at the metal building that house three indoor tennis courts. There will also be six clay courts outside, with room added in for growth.
“It’s going to come back, it’s going to be an economic force,” said Gary Minor with the Park and Recreation Authority. “It’s close to the University of Alabama, it’s close to the heart of the city, so it’s a good place to rejuvenate.”
The Tuscaloosa Tennis Center is only one of several ongoing projects in Alberta, totaling more than $42 million.
