BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT)– Birmingham Police officers were busy Sunday afternoon investigating a shooting and stabbing within minutes of one another.
The first incident happened around 3:00 p.m. in the 500 block of 34th Street. Lt. Sean Edwards tells WIAT 42 News that a mother was grazed by a bullet in the ankle after a someone shot at her son. Police have no suspect in custody.
The second incident happened a short time later at an apartment complex near 2nd Avenue South, Two female roommates got into an argument which turned violent when one of the women began stabbing the other several times in the hands and arms. The victim was treated at the scene. The other roommate has not been charged at this time.
