Non-profit group looking to teach fire prevention tips to Anniston residents

ANNISTON, Ala. (WIAT) — An east Alabama non-profit is educating Anniston neighbors on the ins and outs of fire prevention. The program, sponsored by “The Right Place”, is an income based program designed to provide training and equipment to families who may not otherwise be able to afford to.

People who take part are trained how to use lifesaving equipment like smoke alarms and fire detectors. After the training, a program coordinator and firefighter will actually visit them at home, to go over what they learned and practice their fire safety plans.
