TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa homicide investigators responded to reports of a shooting late on Sunday, April 4.
According to the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, upon arrival at the 300 block of 38th Place East, investigators learned that a 16-year-old black male had been shot in the arm and in his left side. Investigators were also told that an occupied apartment had been shot into.
The victim was transported to DCH for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
Witnesses told investigators that the victim and his friends were standing in front of the apartment building when an unknown black male came around the corner of the building and started shooting. The case is currently pending further investigation.
On Monday April 6 at midnight, investigators were called to the 6500 block of Lakefield Drive in reference to another shooting. The victim, a 38-year-old black male, was shot in the leg as he was leaving the aforementioned location.
The victim told the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit that an unknown black male suspect confronted him in the parking lot and shot him one time before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. This case is also currently pending further investigation.
