FBI seeking individual with information about child sexual assault victim

(WIAT) — The FBI is seeking the public’s assistance with obtaining the identity of an unknown male who may have information pertaining to the identity of a child victim in an ongoing sexual exploitation investigation.

The unknown individual, “John Doe 29,” is an unidentified adult male. Initial images of John Doe 29 show Doe with a child first recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in January of 2008. Investigators for the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have successfully enhanced images depicting Doe, and believe they contain several clues which may assist in identifying the subject.

Images relevant to the investigation include those depicting the individual wearing a silver ring on his left ring finger, the victim wearing blue and white Velcro Nike brand tennis shoes, and the background where the images were taken. The individual is seen wearing a white, black and red shirt which appears to have a design and/or writing on the sleeves.

No specific details link the man to a particular region of the United States or to a particular state. His identity and his current whereabouts are unknown.

Doe is described as a man with a tan complexion, likely between the ages of 30 and 45, with dark hair.

The individual is being sought as part of the FBI’s Operation Rescue Me and Endangered Child Alert Program (ECAP) initiatives, both of which represent strategic partnerships between the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Operation Rescue Me focuses on utilizing clues obtained through image analysis to identify child victims depicted in child exploitation material, while ECAP seeks national and international media exposure of unknown adults. These adults visibly display their faces and/or other distinguishing characteristics in association with child pornography images, and are referred to as John or Jane Does.

Anyone with information should submit a tip online or call the FBI’s toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

No charges have been filed in this case and the pictured individual is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
