Abducted Cullman child found safe in Blount Co.

CULLMAN, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: Cullman County Sheriff’s Office investigators found Iva Mikel safe in Blount County Friday night.

Stephanie Mikel was arrested for interference with custody by the Sheriff’s Office and is being transported to the Cullman County Detention Center.

ORIGINAL: Iva McKenzie Mikel has been abducted by her biological mother, Stephanie Moon Mikel.

Stephanie, who has no physical custodial rights to her child went to Iva’s father’s residence in Cullman County just before 4 p.m. on Friday and forcibly took the child from her residence.

Iva is 2-years-old with blonde hair and blue eyes. Stephanie is 28-years-old, with brown eyes and her hair was last seen bleach blonde, although it is typically multiple colors. She is 5’5″ and weighs around 160 pounds, and is driving a silver Toyota Celica.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office is asking assistance in locating Iva. Anyone with information should call the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office at 256-734-0342.
