Judge declares mistrial in Patrick Johnson murder trial

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — On Friday Judge Clyde Jones, the judge in the Patrick Johnson murder trial, granted a mistrial after jurors were unable to reach a verdict. Jurors were deadlocked at 6-6.

Johnson is accused of killing Keary Hollis, an off duty Birmingham Police Officer, who was allegedly leaving the scene of a vehicular accident back in May of 2014.

A retrial has been set to begin on September 21st, 2015.
