PELHAM, Ala. (WIAT)– The Oak Mountain Amphitheater in Pelham, introduced drones for the Anything Goes concert on Saturday.
It’s all over the amphitheater and watch parking with it and when the parking lot is full we can radio to the police officers and say let’s start parking cars in another lot” says Patrick Boone, the general manager of Oak Mountain.
The drones can also monitor that crowd from an aerial view. This is the amphitheater’s first year using the drones. The flying camera is able to record everything happening in the real time, while the person steering it stands in the middle of the action.
Eleven thousand people piled in to see The Florida Georgia Line and Frankie Ballard Saturday night.
“We have meet and greet passes to meet the band tonight. We are so excited!” said one die hard fan.
There were 26 police officers from Pelham and 4 officers from Hoover helping out with traffic flow. They were also scattered throughout the venue.
