BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A bomb threat was called in to the Birmingham Police Department at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Lt. Theo Smith confirms that the threat was called in from the Federal Courthouse Building in the downtown area. The building was evacuated in order to allow bomb technicians to respond to the scene. Per Lt. Smith, the scene is clear and all employees have been allowed to go back inside.
At this time, the incident is being monitored as a threat.
