TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — The Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man accused of soliciting children.
With children starting school, the priority of vigilance has risen for parents and police.
The sheriff’s office received a call this morning from a concerned parent about a suspicious white male in a white pickup truck engaging with children.
Patrols were immediately dispatched to find this potential suspect.
Ralph Abernathy with the Tuscaloosa County Police said, “We take this incredibly serious, every single call that comes in, we’re going to send units out and use various investigative maneuvers we have available because when you have children, they are the most precious commodity we have. Out here as a whole, we want to do everything that we can do to ensure their safety, and we also want to use the assets we have available.”
Sheriff Abernathy asks everyone in the Fosters and Ralph communities to be on the lookout for a white pick-up truck occupied by a white male acting suspicious. This vehicle and suspect may be involved in approaching children near bus stop locations. Anyone who witnesses this type of suspicious activity from a similar vehicle or any vehicle is asked to contact the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 205-752-0616.
