TRAFFORD, Ala. (WIAT) — A candlelight vigil was held in memory of a Jefferson County toddler who died last week.

Three-year-old Jettie Ray Adams was found unresponsive on the front porch of her family’s home in Trafford.

Her mother, 23-year-old Misty Lynn Wright, and her mother’s boyfriend, 39-year-old Johnathon Talley were arrested and charged with capital murder.

A sea of pink balloons filled a Trafford park as many from around the community remembered Jettie. She was born May 27, 2012.

“She was really sweet and cute and hyper and she was really beautiful” says Stephanie Carroll.

“Anyway you look at it its downright sorry. Im not blaming wither one of them. We don’t know who done it but it will come out shortly it will come out” says Carl Talley.

Carl is related to the alleged abuser, Johnathon Talley. However, on Friday, he stood in remembrance of 3 year old Jettie.

At the end, the crowd released the pink balloons into the air.

The pastor who spoke at the vigil, had some strong words. He said he hopes that this tragedy will help other victims of abuse come forward.
