TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE NOV. 23: A fourth suspect, 18-year-old Michaela Brooks, has been charged with the capital murder of Gregorie Somerville.
UPDATE AUG. 25 11:27 A.M.: Marquell Underwood, 17, Trevoris Sheppard, 22 and Samuel Sanders, 16, were all arrested on charges of capital murder Tuesday morning. All three are being held in the Tuscaloosa county jail with no bond.
According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Somerville was lured to the apartment under the pretense to sell individuals at the complex marijuana. The suspects had already planned to rob Somerville when he arrived.
The suspects took Somerville’s shorts, cell phone and marijuana from his vehicle.
UPDATE AUG. 24, 2015 1:40 PM: The body found in the parking lot of Aspen Village Apartments was identified as 25-year-old Gregorie Somerville.
According to a media release from Captain Gary Hood of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, Monday morning, a resident of the apartment complex noticed something suspicious in the parking lot while on their way to work and called the police.
Officers discovered Somerville’s body upon arrival.
Hood said there are no suspects at this time.
ORIGINAL: The Tuscaloosa County Homicide unit is investigating an early morning homicide.
The homicide occurred at Aspen Village Apartments, at 2201 8th Street East.
One black male was found deceased in a parking lot early Monday morning at one of the apartments.
This investigation is ongoing. More details will be reported as they become available.
