(WIAT) — A popular brand of baby wipes is getting a lot of attention after a parent claims the products are riddled with shards of glass.
Aspen Patterson is one of hundreds of people who got word about a nationwide post online.
Parents said they are finding tiny pieces of glass in Huggies baby wipes.
Patterson said her son has had a rash ever since she started using these wipes last month.
Huggies said the shards are not glass, but could be melted fiber from the wipe. The explanation is still not sitting well with Patterson.
“It’s supposed to be soft fibers, you know, there should not be anything hard on it,” said Patterson.
Huggies is responding individually to most of the hundreds of people commenting online. Huggies said it doesn’t plan on recalling the product because it’s not dangerous.
The company has set-up a new page on its website and a phone number to answer questions about the issue.
