NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A naked man is accused of breaking into a south Nashville home Monday morning.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. at a home in Antioch when police say neighbor Daniel Hood wandered to a home nearby without any clothes on.
He is accused of kicking in the back door with his bare foot.
Hood, 29, was ultimately charged with criminal trespassing when police arrived at the scene.
“He told police he was having sex with two girls in here. I mean, he broke through the door; there’s no way,” said the 19-year-old home at the time. “I didn’t know what was going on. Everyone was yelling and scared.”
She said the naked man was also close to a 9-year-old girl’s bedroom.
“She saw him. It’s horrible,” the woman said. “She is doing okay. She is pretty scared, but she wanted to go to school.”
Metro police told News 2 Hood lives in the neighborhood and allegedly came through a tree line, naked and without shoes, then up the home’s back stairs.
The family said after a confrontation, he made his way back the way he came.
Hood’s mother told News 2 the 29-year-old has been battling depression over a friend’s suicide and a cheating girlfriend.
She explained her son has been staying with her for a few days in a Harding Place motel, but he slipped away Sunday night.
“Dan is awesome. I raised my children right, believe in God and be honest,” she explained. “He is the most honest person you’ll ever want to meet.”
The mother continued, “I think he can’t handle what he knows. This is not his character. He is suffering. He’s got to be under the influence of something.”
News 2 checked Hood’s criminal history. He has several arrests in Metro-Nashville including one for drug possession and another for assault, where affidavits indicate he threatened a man with an airsoft gun.
He currently remains in the Metro jail. His bond was not immediately known.
