(WIAT) — From battle fatigues to bridal gowns, one bridal shop is thanking female soldiers by giving away wedding dresses.
Victoria Cowan has dedicated her life to serving her country.
“I’ve been serving for two and a half years,” said Cowan, U.S. Army.
Now that she’s back home, she’s preparing for her special day, and her perfect gown won’t cost her anything but time and patience.
On Veterans Day, Alfred Angelo said ‘thank you’ to service women the best way they know how: with a free wedding dress. Their selection includes thousands of sample dresses.
Military brides-to-be can set up an appointment to come in.
“A lot of them are thanking us today, but this is our way of showing gratitude for all they do and we’re really glad to be part of Veterans Day,” said Paul Quentel, Alfred Angelo CEO.
Cowan serves in the army and her fiancé will soon be deployed next year.
In February, she’ll be heading to Korea, but before, on January 18, she’ll be getting married.
“I am 100 percent positive I will find my dress today,” said Cowan.
No matter how far Cowan will have to go to serve her country, she said that special dress will be a special memory made right here at home.
