Carjacking suspect arrested, held on $150,000 bond

BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) — At 10:35 a.m. on November 8, a woman was reportedly carjacked in the 1800 block of Bessemer Road.

Police say the victim was in her 2013 Red Dodge Challenger when it was intentionally struck from behind. When she went out to assess the damage, her vehicle was stolen.

A detective with the Birmingham Police Department identified Jamarlon Edwards as one of the robbery suspects. He was arrested on November 15 and is held in the Jefferson County jail pending $150,000 bond.

Edwards is believed to be part of the group carjacking and robbing in Birmingham and surrounding areas. Police are still searching for other suspects.
