Jacksonville shooting leaves two teens injured

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Jacksonville police are investigating a shooting at McDonald’s that left two teens injured.

Police say officers responded to the McDonald’s on Pelham Road North and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds around 8:40 p.m. Friday night.

18-year-old Abdul R. Khalillah of Anniston and 19-year-old Ronnie M. Royal of Alexandria were taken to a Jacksonville hospital and then flown to UAB. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Authorities arrested a 16-year-old suspect. He was transported to the Jacksonville Police department until Monday when police say he will be transported to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department jail.

A press release from Jacksonville police says the suspect will be treated as an adult as the crime is a Class A Felony. His bond was reportedly set at $120,000 cash only.
