Officials searching for three black male suspects in Meadowbrook home invasion

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Authorities say they are searching for three black male suspects after a home invasion in Meadowbrook in North Shelby County.

A press release from the Shelby COunty Sheriff’s Office says one resident was seriously injured from an assault and altercation. A second resident was reportedly unharmed.

The victims told investigators that around 4:30 p.m. on Monday the 21st, three black male suspects forced entry into their apartment in the 500 block of Morning Sun Drive

One victim was assaulted and both were restrained while the apartment was “ransacked.”

The suspects later fled the scene.

The press release reads in part:

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident but need the public’s help in identifying the suspects. If you saw something suspicious in the area, or have any information about this crime, please contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office directly at (205)669-4181, through the Secret Witness line at (205)669-9116, or through our website at, by clicking on the “Report Criminal Activity” link and choosing the “General Information” category.

Sheriff Samaniego would like to see the suspects in this case arrested and charged with the crimes they committed. He said, “I take all crimes seriously but none more so than the forced entry into a person’s home. In this case the residents were also assaulted and feared for their lives. Our job now is to work to catch those responsible for this and to prevent them from doing it again.”
The suspects may face criminal charges of Burglary, 1st Degree and Assault, 1st Degree, for their actions yesterday.
