TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — The Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to a sexual assault on January 2 at 10 p.m.
Officers were called to the 4400 block of 21st Street, where the victim said 37-year-old Lamont Cooper, who was released from prison two weeks prior, sexually assaulted her.
The suspect could not be located and a BOLO was issued to all agencies for Cooper. On January 3, investigators and the TPD Patrol checked several locations and located Cooper inside a residence in the 1600 block of 44th Avenue.
Cooper was arrested and transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail. His bond is set at $110,000.
