Tuscaloosa, AL (WIAT) — For the third time in Head Coach Avery Johnson’s first season, the Alabama Crimson Tide Men’s Basketball team upset a Top 25 team. The Tide hands No. 19 South Carolina its first loss of the season 75-50 Wednesday in front of a rabid Coleman Coliseum crowd.
With members of the College Football Playoff National Champion Football team in attendance, the Tide rode a shooting streak from Sophomore Riley Norris, who tied the school record with seven 3-pointers, and finished with 27 points.
“Amazing but I give all the credit to god” Said Norris “And then my teammates found me when I was open so I had to make the shot.”
Alabama is now 10-5 overall, 1-2 in SEC Play, they’ll next play at Vanderbilt on Saturday, January 16th.
