MLK Unity Breakfast: 7:30 a.m., BJCC North Exhibition Hall. Led by the Birmingham Metro Diversity Coalition.

Montevallo MLK Unity March: 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., line up behind the Montevallo McDonald’s. All are invited to attend the annual MLK community March.

MLK wreath laying: 10 a.m., Kelly Ingram Park. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will host their annual wreath laying ceremony in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

MIles College MLK Day of Service: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Students give back to the community by carrying on Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.

MLK Rally in Tuscaloosa: 11 a.m. at Malone-Hood Plaza; Tuscaloosa Minimum Wage Coalition is gathering to march to and rally on City Hall for a minimum wage hike.

Martin Luther King Peace March: 11:30 a.m., Birmingham City Hall. Civil rights leaders and public officials will participate in the march to commemorate the holiday.

Future to Believe In Rally: 7 p.m., Boutwell Auditorium. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is hosting a rally to discuss the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and the ongoing fight for racial justice.

MLK Youth Ceremony: Kelly Ingram Park; Unity Church Birmingham hosts a ceremony of all faiths and nationalities to honor the life of Martin Luther King Jr.

MLK Day of Service: Legion Field; The City of Birmingham partners with Hands on Birmingham to coordinate one of the largest MLK Day service events in the area.

Dr. Cornel West at Tuskegee University: Marking the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Norwood Learning Gardens Service Day: MLK Day of service with the reopening of Norwood Elementary School.

Alabaster MLK Day of Service: Kids First Awareness 21st Century Community Learning Center and Alabama Power is sponsoring a day of service. Highway 11 in Alabaster.
