Viewer helps crack Odenville case believed to be linked to Lake Cyrus murder

ODENVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — Odenville Police are looking for teenagers believed to be responsible for some of the crimes in their area.

Police say they’ve arrested one 16-year-old in connection with a string of burglaries, including one where the burglars fired a gun at a homeowner.

Odenville Police Chief Adam Pardue says a tip from a WIAT 42 News viewer helped crack the case.

“A lady whose truck had been stolen out of Birmingham saw the news story that we done in November. She called us two days later and said, I think my truck was the one used up there in Odenville for your shooting. We started checking things out, and it was her truck that was used for the shooting here in Odenville,” he said.

Police are also looking for two other teenagers in connection with the burglaries. They believe the crimes could be linked to the shooting death of Mike Gilotti in Lake Cyrus, because of the similar MO in the cases.
