Tracking a Predator: Anthony Andrews

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: Anthony Andrews was arrested.

ORIGINAL STORY: Jefferson County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for a 63-year-old convicted rapist. WIAT 42 News is partnering with the sheriff’s office to track down missing sex predators in our community.

Anthony Andrews, 63, was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl in Jefferson County in 1975.

Andrews was living on 16th Avenue North in Birmingham and failed to re-register in November. Sheriff Mike Hale says his deputies are working hard to find this man.

Andrews is wanted for Failure to Register Quarterly. It carries a $10,000 bond.

“Once you’re a convicted sex offender, you have to report. There’s no out. You just have to report to the sheriff or county where you live, where you work,” Sheriff Hale said.

If you know where Anthony Andrews is located please call the Jefferson County Sexual Predator hotline at 325-4779.
