TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — The Trussville Police Department said 26-year-old Brittaney Owens was shot and killed by her former boyfriend early Wednesday morning.
The reported shooter has been identified as 29-year-old Troy Derringer Demar Green.
The Trussville Police Department said Green drove up and bumped Owens’ car this morning, then got out and shot through her passenger window with a .45 caliber handgun. He then turned the gun on himself.
According to law enforcement, the two used to date and have a 3-year-old child together. The child was not involved in the shooting.
The male had been arrested before for domestic violence and sending harassing communications.
According to Owens’ family, the male used to put a GPS tracker on her car so he knew her wherabouts.
