BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Inspire Us Bham campaign has sparked local women to share their stories.
Kali Piersall and Laura Walker, the creators of the Inspire Us Bham campaign, came up with this idea over lunch while discussing an insecurity that Kali had growing up.
Kali has a scar on her forehead from a car accident. She says for year it used to bother her.
Kali decided she wanted step in front of the camera, make up free, in order to push through her insecurities about her scar.
The two women thought that this “make up free” concept could be inspiring for other women in Birmingham as well.
That’s when they started the “Inspire Us Bham” campaign via Facebook and asked women to share their personal stories about overcoming obstacles and learning to really love themselves.
“The whole goal, is for one, women to support one another,” Laura said.
Support one another they did. Thirty women were chosen from over 100 submissions, to participate in the “Inspire us Bham” make up free photo shoot.
“Inspire Us Bham” will share each women’s photo and story over the next couple of months in hopes of inspiring more women to work through their own insecurities and feel beautiful, just the way they are.
Remember if you would like to see Kibbe’s story or any other women in Birmingham’s story, follow Inspire Us Bham on Facebook and Instagram.
