Kalamazoo, Mich. (WIAT) – Six people are dead, Sunday morning after a gunman goes on a shooting spree that spanned more than six hours, and at least three locations.
Investigators arrested 45-year-old Jason Dalton early Sunday morning after beginning his rampage around 6 p.m. the previous day.
Officials say it all began outside of an apartment complex in East Kalamazoo County, there a woman was seriously wounded after being shot multiple times.
Dalton reportedly fled from that scene, but popped up 15 miles away at a car dealership, four hours later. There, police say he shot a father and son who were looking at cars. Investigators tell us both victims died from their injuries.
From there, police say Dalton wound up in a parking lot of a nearby Cracker Barrel. Five people total were hit, including a 14-year-old girl. Four of the five died from those injuries. Investigators say the teen survived, and is listed in serious condition.
The gunman has no known criminal history. Right now, Dalton is in police custody
