ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala (WIAT) — People from across the Gadsden area came together last night to remember the life of a murdered teen.
The service served as a memorial to 17 year old Anthony Hale. Hale was shot and killed one year ago outside of a party he was hosting.
Yesterday’s memorial was also a fundraiser–serving to support the “Anthony Hale Scholarship,” which will be awarded to a Gadsden City High School senior each year.
Family remembers Hale as a kind student who stood up for others.
The memorial also featured community leaders speaking on ways to curb violence in the area.
