BIRMINGHAM, Ala (WIAT) — Yesterday, high school students from across Jefferson County came together to discuss current events and situations they face at school on a daily basis.
Ramsay High School hosted the town hall, which students called #PopOff. The students gave presentations and went into small group sessions, where they talked about issues such as violence, bullying, and social media use.
At the conclusion of yesterday’s event, the students were charged with creating a community service project. Organizers say the students will be working on the project in the community within the next 90 days.
