State of Alabama rules against Victoryland in forfeiture case

BIRMINGHAM, Ala (WIAT) — The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled against Victoryland in a recent forfeiture case.

Thursday, the State Supreme Court found that a 2013 raid conducted at the bingo hall was legal.

That decision grants the state the right to keep $260,000 dollars and more than one million electronic bingo machines that it confiscated.

A circuit judge had previously ruled it unfair for the state to take action against Milton McGregor’s business, given the fact that other bingo halls were still in operation.
