Purple Rain coming back to Alabama theaters as a tribute to Prince

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — After Prince passed on April 21, theaters around the country have decided to screen his film “Purple Rain” over the next week.

Carmike Cinemas are one of the chains that have taken up the task of showing the artist’s most famous film, and they have selected a few local theatres to be among those that receive a reel.

In Alabama, the movie will be shown at these theaters: Patton Creek 15 in Hoover, Wynnsong 14 in Auburn, Jubilee Square 12 in Daphne, Valley Bend 18 in Huntsville, Chantilly 13 in Montgomery, Carmike 12 in Dothan, Wynnsong 16 in Mobile, and Wharf 15 in Orange Beach.
