ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Hokes Bluff man is accused of breaking into a home on Haney Road where police say he vandalized the property, ate food and drank juice from the fridge, and killed the home owner’s cat by knocking over a large piece of furniture.
According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office 33-year-old Kenneth Sprayberry was found on the front porch of the house when the owners came home Friday evening.
Kenneth Grover Sprayberry, 33, of Hokes Bluff, is charged with one count of one count of third degree burglary and unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle, both are felonies,” investigator Jeremy Lasseter said. “He is also charged with one count of fourth degree theft of property and cruelty to animals, both misdemeanors.”
Officials say Sprayberry also tried to unsuccessfully break into the victim’s truck. He was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center; his bond is set at $8,000.
