Troy football player killed in motorcycle crash

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WIAT) — Former Gulf Shores High School Quarterback Nathan Harris died in a motorcycle accident in Fort Morgan, according to the Gulf Shores Police Department.

He was killed when his motorcycle struck the back of a flatbed truck trailer carrying lumber.

Harris graduated from Gulf Shores in 2014. He later walked on the football team at Troy University, earning a position as a holder.

The accident happened on Fort Morgan Road near Council Lane Monday morning in Gulf Shores. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
