Hoover High School P.E. teacher charged with domestic violence

HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) — Hoover High School P.E. teacher Lori Michelle McCombs has been arrested and charged with domestic violence in the third degree, Hoover police say.

Lt. Chuck McDonald says the arrest stems from an August 2015 incident. McCombs was booked Friday into the Hoover City Jail on the charge after being arrested in the parking lot of Hoover City Schools’ Central Office.

McDonald says detectives investigated the incident in 2015 and the victim, who is related to the suspect, came forward today and completed paperwork for the warrant to be issued. McDonald says the victim was grabbed around the neck with both hands at Hoover High School.

Her bond is set at $1,000 and McDonald says she is in the process of posting it.

McCombs was previously arrested in March on a misdemeanor harassment charge for an alleged incident between her and a student. The charge was later dropped.
