Shelby County man accused of making a terrorist threat in a church

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Shelby County man is facing charges for making terrorist threats in a church.

25-year-old Joshua Davis is being held in the Jefferson County jail on a $10,000 bond. Authorities say they responded to Briarwood Presbyterian Church on Sunday on reports of a disorderly person.

Church officials say Davis became loud and disruptive before slamming a door and making obscene gestures to a deacon. Church security tried to subdue him but he was uncooperative.

Davis fled the church before police arrived. Authorities went to his home and arrested him without incident.
