ANNISTON, Ala. (WIAT) — Deputy Coroner Shane Adrian confirms to CBS42 that one man died during a triple shooting Tuesday night. Police were called to the 2100 block of Christine Avenue after 9 pm.
17-year-old Monquavis Hunter died on the scene at 9:50 p.m., the coroner says.
Two other men were also shot. Paramedics transported one man to UAB and the other man is being treated at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Jerry Washington and his son Justin Robinson heard all the action Tuesday night. They live across the street from where the shooting happened on Christine Avenue.
“I heard shots that sounded like firecrackers going off about five or six times and saw a bunch of ambulances and stuff,” said Robinson.
Washington said he saw all three people involved in the shooting.
“I noticed a guy deceased on the porch laying by the door and they were working on him, the crime scene was doing what they do they closed off the area. There was one guy here, another over there, and the deceased one was on the porch and they broke the area off to continue to do what they do,” said Washington.
Sandra Maddox lives two doors down from where the shooting happened. She said one of the people involved in the shooting came up to her door.
“He didn’t say anything to but I have been shot and I said I will call 911 for you, that’s what I did, I called 911 and the rescue squads and police started coming,” said Maddox.
A friend of Hunters tell CBS 42 Hunter went to Anniston High School. Police said no arrest have been made yet.
