HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) If you’re heading to the Regions Tradition at Greystone CC this weekend you might want to know which holes will be the most exciting for you to watch. Greystone Director of Golf Steve Smith took us on a course tour to answer that question.
No. 13: Par 5- 531 yards. Reachable in two for most players. A hazard lines the right side of the green which will be tricky for players trying to reach. Everything slopes towards the water.
No. 14: Par 3- 191 yards. Hazard left, bunkers right, long is dead. Pin will be tucked behind bunkers on weekend. Bogey is very easy to make if players aren’t careful.
No. 15: Par 5- 609 yards. The longer hitters can reach it, but only with a great tee shot down the very left side because of trees right. Second shot is also difficult with a creek that runs up the left side to the green.
No. 17: Par 3- 201 yards. A fun hole for fans with grandstands and party/ hospitality areas. Huge green that could see a lot of three puts
No. 18: Par 5- 526 yards. Players can make eagle. They can make double bogey. That’s why it will be so fun to watch on Sunday afternoon. A creek follows along the right side off the tee. Very reachable in two shots but there’s water short and to the left of the green, which a lot of players may find if they go for it in two.
