BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – It’s a big weekend not only for golf fans, but for the community as well. It’s the return of the Regions Tradition. Wednesday morning the Executive Vice President of Regions Financial, Scott Peters, spoke with Michael Oder about the impact of the tournament.
In the quarter of a century the tournament has taken place, Peters says the tournament has helped to raise millions for local charities, “in those 25 years, $14 million raised for local charities.”
And each year, Peters adds, the Tradition has a big impact on the local economy, “there’s about $25 million of local impact.”
So with thousands expected to attend the event this year, what advice would he give anyone planning to visit the Regions Tradition, “Have fun.”
