BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — We are looking at a cold front moving through tonight. Showers and t-storms will be moving through tonight, into the early morning hours. Some thunderstorms could produce heavy rain and gusty wind, but severe weather looks unlikely. After the rain moves out tonight, look for things to dry out as we start the work week.
With some moisture still hanging around Monday, with the heating of the day, a few showers may pop up south of I-20/59. These would be quick, in and out showers. High temps will top out in the mid to upper 80s, depending on if you see rain. The rest of the work week is looking very quiet, and comfortable actually. With the influence of the tropical system to our southeast, that means winds will be blowing out of the north and northwest, meaning dry air gets transported in. That will be the case starting Tuesday, and lasting through next weekend.
Temperatures next week will fluctuate from the upper 80s Tuesday, to the middle 80s and low humidity Wednesday, then spike back into the upper 80s by late in the week. And early indications are, that even warmer temps could be lurking late in the week and next weekend..stay tuned.
