BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A multi-faith service at the Beloved Community Church in Avondale took place on Wednesday night with hundreds in attendance.

Attendees of the service hoped that their prayers would help to usher in change in a world where people are quick to judge.

“Love is still greater than hate,” said Miguel Carpizo, a convert to Islam. “And my prayer is that we can come together and be healed.”

The event also served to raise money for victims of the shooting, which will go to the active GoFundMe. (https://www.gofundme.com/PulseVictimsFund)
