BIRMINGHAM, Ala (CNN) — Lawmakers in North Carolina are making a “small change” to its controversial House Bill 2.
The change includes restoring the right under state law to sue for unemployment discrimination. The change does not reverse the bill’s stance on transgender people not being able to use the restroom that matches their gender identity.
Representative Darren Jackson says he filed a full repeal bill to HB 2, but the bill was never heard. He still expects the bill, even with this change, to still be a talker as election season arrives.
