ORIGINAL: The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Sunday morning shooting that landed two teenagers in the hospital.

It happened early Sunday morning at a building along Highway 82 in Pickensville. Pickens County Sheriff David Abston says the community center was rented out to a large group for a party. Around 1 a.m. the Sheriff says someone started shooting.

“It was some kind of rifle, it may be some kind of SKS or AK-47. It is that caliber but we are not sure so we want to find those weapons and get them off the street” Abston said.

Ladaraous Jackson, 19, and Micheal Jordan, 18, were both shot. One victim was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the stomach. Deputies spent Sunday morning collecting evidence and looking for a suspect. Investigators put down more then 25 evidence markers. The Sheriff says a stray bullet killed an animal at a nearby farm.

“A neighbor even had a cow shot down the road so. There were lots of stray bullets and thats another thing that concerns us when you have these shoot outs you can have innocent bystanders or property damage from stray bullets”.

Abston is asking anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Office.

“Well it is sad anytime you have a shooting with people hurt its sad for our community. And we are going to find the bad guys and prosecute them arrest them and bring them to court”.

Victims 18 year old Micheal Jordan is in serious condition in the hospital. 19 year old Ladaraous Jackson was treated and released. No arrests have been made.
