More community conversations to happen in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham City Council hosted a community conversation in Ensley to create dialogue between community members and police.

City leaders and community activists were on a panel. At least one person voiced concern not only about policing, but also what he called the lack of economic and education opportunities in their communities.

City Council President Johnathan Austin said the city plans to have more of these conversations in other communities around Birmingham.
